If you want to go by car from Cancun to Tulum is approximately an hour and a half away, there are several rental at the airport in Cancun.
Are there mosquitos in Tulum?
During the rainy season from July to September, there are mosquitoes. We recommend buying mosquito repellent and coils to make your stay more enjoyable.
Can I bring a cooler?
The local health laws do not allow to enter the huts with food and drink. Nor can store food inside as curiosity and hunger can make for unexpected as mice, iguanas and raccoons. For this reason, all coolers and ice chests will be stored in the reservoir of the hotel until the guest to leave. Our hotel is in the middle of the jungle and we appreciate your cooperation to maintain basic health standards in our facilities.

Is it safe to swim in the sea?
Of course! The sea in this area has no dangerous currents and usually very quiet. The reef is located 300 m. the coast and is an excellent place to snorkel. Just go straight from the beach, it is very easy to find. Do not touch the coral because some can cause a rash. Furthermore, when touched, they die. Remember that corals are animals, not plants. Are there any dangerous animals?
Tulum is located in the middle of the jungle and probably see some animals in the surrounding areas such as raccoons, badgers, foxes, wild turkeys and iguanas. Are there snakes?

How far in advance should I book my vacation?
We usually start taking orders in February for the holiday season (December-January) and most with ocean view cabins are fully booked as early as September. Book ahead to get the room you want to end this year.
Do I need to rent a car? How I can get around?
If your idea is lounging on the beach a week, I need a car. You can take a taxi at the door of Copal or rent a bicycle or scooter to visit the attractions. However, if you prefer a more active holiday and want to go, it is easier to rent a car.
How is the weather?
Tulum is located in the middle of the jungle and has a tropical climate, so guests can feel a warmth and higher humidity to which they are accustomed to at home. What transport is available to go to the beach town of Tulum?

Yes you can. There are about 6 km. from the hotel zone to the town of Tulum.Remember to bring a water bottle for the trek!
What turtles can be seen?
From April to September, our beach is the best place in Tulum to see where sea turtles lay their eggs. Every night, leave the water to spawn on the beach. We invite you to witness this wonderful experience, following the instructions of our employees. Any type of light dazzles the turtles, so we ask that you do not carry flashlights. We also ask them not to smoke on the beach at night. If turtles are scared to return to the sea, will not return to the beaches to nest this season.
Where is the nearest ATM?
They have installed four ATMs in the town of Tulum, three near the City Hall and one near the ADO bus station. In Tulum there are also cabins for changing cash and travelers checks, and an HSBC branch near City Hall. There is also a booth to change money at Azulik.
Do all rooms have electricity?
Due to the request of guests, Cabanas Copal electricity removed from the cabins and received more compliments since then. Guests like the romantic light of candles in the cabins. Do the bathrooms have hot water?
Yes! All bathrooms have hot water Ecotulum Resorts. Gas tanks are used to heat the bath water, which is transported from the village in trucks. This well water is stored in underground tanks and pumped several times a day to upper tanks to get water in all bathrooms. The pressure and water quality may not be as you usually have at home. In an effort to conserve water, we ask our guests not wash the clothes in your room. There are several laundries in town that offer laundry and dry in 24 hours.
Do thatched roofs are waterproof?
Our "palapas" are constructed according to the traditional Mayan style, with palm leaves. These ceilings are usually waterproof, however it is possible to move the branches with a strong wind and in that case may have a leak inside the cabin. These problems are solved immediately (half hour) by adding more branches. If you plan to bring silk clothing for example, we recommend that you store in Ziploc type bags waterproof.
Do any of the hotels have air conditioning?
None of the Ecotulum Resorts have air conditioning.
Where I can charge the batteries?
You can ask at the reception of your hotel to recharge batteries during the times when operating the generator.
Are there safe deposit box?
Yes! There is a safe deposit box in the reception to store documents and for small and medium-sized items such as cameras and laptops.

Should I go or not?
Remember we are in the middle of the jungle and we do everything we can to make our guests feel comfortable in this natural setting.

However, if you prefer the air conditioning and hair dryer before the sea breeze and candlelight, then Copal is probably not the best destination for your vacation.
